Why didn't the eGift arrive?

If you or the intended recipient have not received an email containing the eGift, please check in your GiftCards.ca account first to make sure the order was successfully processed and that the Order Status is listed as Available. To view this status, login to your account on GiftCards.ca, then look for the eGift Card under Order History. If it’s there, select View Item Details for that eGift, then check the Status listed within the Item Overview section.

If the card is not showing in your order history, then the transaction was not successful, but you may still see pending charges on your credit card. These generally disappear from your credit card after 3 to 10 business days, but no actual funds are taken from your card if your order does not pass the review stage of the process and is later cancelled after check out. If you need help or have questions about an order, please contact our customer serivce team at 1-844-335-9670.

If the eGift Card is for yourself, you can also download it directly from within your account. Login and then check under Order History for the card first, select it, then click or tap on the View Voucher button in the Item Overview section for that card.

If the card is a gift for someone else, please ask them to check their spam or junk folders first, as well as any email filters such as the Promotions tab in Gmail. If the card is not there, you can re-send it to them via your GiftCards.ca account. Once you’ve logged in, look for the card under Order History, select View Item Details for the card you wish to re-send, then click or tap the blue Re-send email link shown in brackets within the Item Overview section. If you experience any issues with this re-send, please contact our customer serivce team at 1-844-335-9670. They are available from 6am to Midnight CST, Monday to Sunday.

Are eGift Cards refundable?

Once an eGift Card has been emailed, it is non-refundable. If the intended recipient does not receive their eGift, please ask them to check their spam or junk folders first. If the card is not there, you can re-send it to them via your GiftCards.ca account. Once you have logged in, look for the card under Order History, select View Item Details for the card you wish to re-send, then click or tap the blue Re-send email link in brackets located in the Item Overview section, by the image of the card. Are there any restrictions on purchasing cards?

Yes, restrictions on purchasing eGift Cards are listed below.

  • eGifts can only be delivered via email or downloaded from a GiftCards.ca account
  • Delivery is NOT instant, it can take up to 48 hours from the time of purchase to review and then process an order
  • There are restrictions on the quantity of eGifts Cards that can be ordered, generally not more than 10 cards per order
  • Some brands may only have set denominations available, please refer to that specific card’s webpage to find out what amounts can be loaded onto that card

Do these cards expire or have any fees?

There are no fees or expiration dates associated with branded eGift Cards like Esso or Uber, but there is a purchase fee of $7.95 per card for the Virtual Joker Prepaid Mastercard, which also has a Valid Thru date. Please visit the Jokercard’s own page or its FAQs for further information on that card’s fee and expiration (Valid Thru) date.

How do I check the status of an order?

You can check the status of an order by logging into your account on the site and then clicking or tapping on the card order in the Order History or Gift Cards section of your account. Then simply review the Status for that order listed within the Item Overview section for that eGift.

How do I place an order?

You can shop on the site at any time, simply add the cards you want to the shopping cart, then check-out by paying with a valid Canadian Visa or Mastercard credit card.

How is my order delivered?

Your recipient will receive an email message that contains a link to their gift card. You will also receive a delivery confirmation email once theirs has been sent. The link in the email will take them to their eGift Card. eGifts can also be downloaded from either the purchaser’s account on the site (for cards bought for yourself), or they can be downloaded from the recipient’s account on the site if the eGift was sent as gift to someone else. If the gift recipient doesn’t have an account on the site, they can create one using the same email adddress that the eGift was sent to.

What are the delivery options?

eGift Cards are delivered by email or can be downloaded from either the purchaser’s account on the site (for cards bought for yourself), or they can be downloaded from the recipient’s account on the site if the eGift was given as gift to someone else. If the gift recipient doesn’t have an account on the site, then they can create one using the same email adddress that the eGift was sent to.

What methods of payment do you accept?

We only accept payment from Canadian credit cards, either Visa or Mastercard. We do not accept debit cards, Discover cards or American Express cards.

When will the eGift be received?

Most orders are processed within 12 hours of purchase, but it can sometimes take up to 48 hours from the time of purchase to review the order before it is approved and then processed.

Once approved, the eGift will be delivered by email, as well as becoming available for download from either the purchaser’s GiftCards.ca account (for eGifts bought for yourself), or it can be downloaded from the gift recipient’s account on the site if they already have one, or if they wish to create one. If creating one, the recipient will need to use the same email address that the eGift was sent to by the purchaser.

If the order fails the review, then it will be rejected and you will receive an Order Cancellation email. Any pending charges on your credit card will generally disappear from your credit card after 3 to 10 business days. No actual funds are taken from your card if your order does not pass the review stage of the process, and is then cancelled.

Where can these cards be used?

That depends on the eGift Card, some can only be used in–store at that brand’s retail or restaurant locations, while others can also be redeemed online on the brand’s website. There are some eGifts that can only be redeemed online, via the brand’s website or app. Since every brand of eGift Card is different, please refer to the card details listed on each eGift’s webpage before purchasing it.
