Are there any restrictions on purchasing gift cards?
Yes, there are restrictions on the quantity of cards that can be ordered, and the types of denominations available for each brand. Please refer to the specific details found on each card’s page before purchasing.
Do these gift cards expire or have any fees?
Most gift cards do not have an expiration date or fees. However, because every brand is different, please refer to the specific details found on each card’s page before purchasing that gift card.
Do these gift cards need to be activated?
Yes, instructions for activation are provided to the recipient.
How do I check the status of an order?
You can check the status of an order by signing into your GiftCards.ca account and then viewing the Order History or Gift Cards sections. Please note that it can take up to 48 hours from the time of purchase to review your order before it gets approved and then proceeds to order processing.
How do I place an order?
Choose the gift cards you want on our site and add them to the shopping cart, then pay using a valid Canadian credit card during check–out. We accept Visa or Mastercard, but do not accept debit cards, Discover cards or American Express cards. We also do not accept telephone or mail orders.
How is my order packaged and delivered?
Plastic gift cards will arrive in a single envelope for each recipient, along with the card activation instructions.
How long does it take to receive a plastic gift card order?
It can take up to 48 hours from the time of purchase to review your order before it is approved for processing. Once approved, it normally takes 3 to 5 business days to process your order prior to shipping. Delivery timing is dependent upon the shipping method selected. Shipping by Canada Post letter mail generally takes 5 to 7 business days but can take longer, while shipping by courier generally takes 2 to 3 business days. Please ensure the recipient address is correct so the item isn’t returned to sender.
What delivery options do you offer?
We offer delivery by mail or courier. Shipping by mail generally takes 5 to 7 business days, while shipping by courier generally takes 2 to 3 business days. Further details and costs are listed under Shipping Method during check-out.
What methods of payment do you accept?
We only accept valid Canadian credit cards from Visa or Mastercard. We do not accept debit cards, Discover cards or American Express cards.
Where can these gift cards be used?
That depends on the gift card. Some can only be used in–store at that brand’s retail or restaurant location(s), while some gift cards can also be used online on the brand’s website or app. There are some gift cards that can only be redeemed online, like Uber Eats, where the card can only be redeemed on that brand’s website or app. Since every brand of gift card is different, please review the details on each gift card’s page before purchasing it.
Can I buy gift cards for my business here?
You can purchase small quantities of gift cards and eGifts for your business on this site, but if you need larger quantities, customized cards or cards with higher values loaded onto them, please visit our corporate orders page for further information. Our corporate accounts team can help you with setting up a corporate account and then placing a larger corporate order. They can also advise you about our gift card programs and platforms, which can be used for employee incentives, customer rebates, or as reward programs for staff or clients. Will someone contact me about my order?
Not unless there has been a problem with the card product you ordered. You should receive a series of confirmation emails after you’ve placed your order, but please check your account on the site for your order’s status. If you need assistance with your order, please contact our Customer Service team. PLEASE NOTE that it can take up to 48 hours from the time of purchase to review your order for fraud and security screening before it’s approved for processing. The Order Status for that item in your GiftCards.ca account will let you know if your order is still in progress, or if it has been approved and processed.
